Soy periodista y Nieman Berkman Fellow durante 2014-2015. Anteriormente fui Knight International Journalism Fellow. Soy el fundador y CEO de Poderopedia, sitio web dedicado a mantener un registro actualizado de quién es quién en el mundo de los negocios y la política en Chile, en base a contenidos editoriales de fuentes abiertas y crowdsourcing. Poderopedia es uno de los ganadores del Knight News Challenge 2011, de Start-Up Chile 2012, y busca promover la transparencia y reflejar eventuales conflictos de interés, investigando y mapeando las conexiones entre las personas, organizaciones y compañías más influyentes del país. Debido a nuestro trabajo, Poderopedia fue nominado como uno de los 100 proyectos más prometedores de 2012 por NetExplo y su servidor fue nominado como uno de los 5 mejores fundadores de Startups de Chile por The Next Web.

Además presido la Fundación Poderomedia, creador de Hackatons, co-creador del capítulo Hacks/Hackers Chile y co-editor del Manual de Periodismo de Datos Iberoamericano.

Hasta febrero de 2012 fui subdirector de El Mostrador.cl, donde escribía, editaba y me hacía cargo entre otras cosas de estrategia digital, desarrollo de nuevos negocios y potenciamiento de marca.

Anteriormente fui subeditor y periodista de reportajes de política, poder y negocios en La Nación Domingo, fui editor co-fundador de El Periodista, participé en la creación de Caras EGO, colaboré con Noticias y Perfil de Argentina, tuve una agencia de contenidos llamada TXT con la cual produje una gira y un disco grabado en vivo en las cárceles del gran Santiago, el primer festival iberoamericano de animación en Flash (sí, nadie es perfecto), ciclos de cine-música y eventos de diseño internacional bajo el sello Santiago Creative Lab., entre otras cosas.

Dependiendo del semestre, hago clases en la Escuela de Periodismo de la Universidad Diego Portales y el Magíster en Edición de la misma universidad. También fui director creativo de los Premios WAW!.

Cuando tenía tiempo libre, con unos amigos hacíamos un podcast de medios e internet llamado Mediápolis.

I am a chilean journalist, currently living in Cambridge and doing research as a Nieman Berkman Fellow for 2014-2015 a Knight International Journalism Fellow, founder and CEO of Poderopedia, a editorial and crowdsourced database website that will show you who is who in business and politics in Chile. Poderopedia is one of the 2011 winners of the Knight News Challenge, the 2012 Start-Up Chile and it aims to promote greater transparency by highlighting the links among the country´s elite. Using data visualization, the site will investigate and illustrate the connections among the most influential people, companies and institutions, shedding light over any conflicts of interest.

Because of our work, Poderopedia was named one of the 100 most promising projects of 2012 by NetExplo and I was named one of the Top 5 Startups founders of Chile by The Next Web. 

I am also the president of Poderomedia Foundation, creator of Hackatons , co-creator of Hacks/Hackers Chile, co-editor of the Iberoamerican Data Journalism Handbook.

Until february 2012 I was deputy director of ElMostrador.cl, a chilean news website where I wrote features, edited, and I was in charge of digital strategy, new business development and brand enhancement.

Previously I was deputy editor and a journalist reporting on politics, business and powerful people at La Nacion Domingo, was co-founding editor of El Periodista, I participated in the creation of Caras EGO, I collaborated with argentina magazine Noticias and Perfil news website, I had an agency called TXT with which I produced: a tour and a live album recorded in prisons of Santiago, the first Latin American Festival of animation in Flash (yes, nobody’s perfect), several film and music events, and international design conference under the label Santiago Creative Lab.

Depending on the time of the year I teach New Media at the School of Journalism at  Universidad Diego Portales and the Masters in Editing and Publishing from the same university. I was the creative director of Premios WAW!.

When I had some free time, with some great friends, we used to do a podcast about Media and Internet called Mediápolis.
